600 kilometres east of Perth, Kalgoorlie is a dynamic and sophisticated regional centre with a fascinating Gold Rush history, lovely old buildings and old gold miner ghost towns.  History and lifestyle blend easily and you can feel a real sense of “Australia.”

A little known fact is that in the early 1900s during the Gold Rush, Kalgoorlie was the second largest city to Sydney with a population of 200,000 and had the busiest train station in the world! (This has now changed to the busiest regional airport in Australia!) Kalgoorlie is also home to the Super Pit, the second largest open pit gold mine in Australia.
