Tiers, Benefits, Points & Participating Hotels

This page summarises the Tiers, Benefits, Points and Participating Hotels included as part of the EVT Stays program. For further information, please also refer to the full terms and conditions of the program here.

1. Tiers

The EVT Stays Program has four tiers, each with different qualification criteria, benefits and points earned per Hotel Visit and Hotel Room Night. These are summarised in the table below:

1.2 The qualification period for earning and retaining tiers:

  • To earn a given tier, the member must meet the required eligible stays and eligible nights during the preceding 12 months prior to the date the most recent eligible stay was completed. Stays and nights become ineligible once they are more than 12 months old.
  • Retaining tiers is based on eligible Hotel Visits and eligible Hotel Nights in the following 12 months from the date the respective tier was originally gained.

1.3 The following promotion, demotion, renewal and termination criteria apply:

  1. Silver Tier EVT Stays Membership: At time of joining all Members initially enter the Program as an entry level EVT Stays Silver Member. Such an individual will retain that EVT Stays Membership until (i) they qualify for a higher Membership tier; (ii) they terminate their Membership; or (iii) the Program Operator terminates their Membership.
  2. Gold Tier EVT Stays Membership: To become a Gold tier EVT Stays Member, an individual must book and stay on a Qualifying Member Rate at Participating Hotels a certain number of Hotel Room Nights or Hotel Visits in the preceding 12 month period as specified by the Program Operator. To maintain the status of a Gold tier EVT Stays Member an individual must continue to stay a certain number of Hotel Room Nights or Hotel Visits at Participating Hotels in the subsequent 12 month period as specified by the Program Operator. Currently, 2 Hotel Visits AND 5 Hotel Room Nights are required to either attain or retain Gold tier EVT Stays Membership status. Multiple Room bookings on the same night will not contribute to tier upgrade or retainment, as the Member only occupies one room.
  3. Platinum Tier EVT Stays Membership: To become a Platinum tier EVT Stays Member, an individual must book and stay on a Qualifying Member Rate at Participating Hotels a certain number of Hotel Room Nights or Hotel Visits in the preceding 12 month period as specified by the Program Operator. To maintain the status of a Platinum tier EVT Stays Member an individual must continue to stay a certain number of Hotel Room Nights or Hotel Visits at Participating Hotels in the subsequent 12 month period as specified by the Program Operator. Currently, 4 Hotel Visits AND 10 Hotel Room Nights are required to either attain or retain Platinum tier EVT Stays Membership status. Multiple Room bookings on the same night will not contribute to tier upgrade or retainment, as the Member only occupies one room.
  4. Black Tier EVT Stays Membership: Individuals are invited to become a Black tier EVT Stays Member on a per-case basis, at the discretion of the Program Operator. All Black tier EVT Stays Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date issued. The Program Operator may renew or downgrade a Black tier EVT Stays Member at its discretion.

1.4 Eligibility of Visits and Nights:

  • Only eligible Hotel Visits and Hotel Nights for Participating Hotels on Qualifying Member Rates count towards tier qualification criteria.
  • Hotel Visits and Hotel Nights are only eligible once the guest has checked-out and completed the Hotel Visit.
  • When a Member stays with a Free Night Reward, this will not count towards earning a higher membership status.

1.5 Changes to the program:

From 20 August 2024 the following changes were made to the Program tiers:

  • The Silver tier was added to the Program as the new entry level tier.
  • The qualification period for earning and retaining tiers moved from calendar year to a rolling period:
    • To earn a given tier, the member must meet the required eligible stays and eligible nights during the preceding 12 months prior to the date the most recent eligible stay was completed. Stays and nights become ineligible once they are more than 12 months old.
    • Retaining tiers is based on eligible stays and eligible nights in the following 12 months from the date the respective tier is gained.
  • The qualification criteria for earning and retaining tiers changed:
    • To earn or retain the Gold tier, members will need to stay 2 times and 5 nights.
    • To earn or retain the Platinum tier, members will need to stay 4 times and 10 nights.
    • The Black tier will be by invitation only. Renewals and invitations will be considered on a per-case basis on frequency of stays.
  • From 20 August 2024, existing members will be given until 31 January 2026 at their current tier (the tier held at 19 August 2024), in order to meet these new qualification criteria. If these criteria are not met by 31 January 2026, the member will be downgraded one tier.

2. Benefits

The following Program Benefits apply to Members and on Hotel Visits at Participating Hotels. For full terms and conditions on Member benefits, click here.

2.1 Food and beverage discounts:

  1. Silver Tier EVT Stays Members can receive a 5% discount on bills for food and beverage costs when dining at the Participating Hotels’ restaurants for up to 4 diners.
  2. Gold Tier EVT Stays Members can receive a 20% discount on bills for food and beverage costs when dining at the Participating Hotels’ restaurants for up to 4 diners.
  3. Platinum Tier EVT Stays Members can receive a 20% discount on bills for food and beverage costs when dining at the Participating Hotels’ restaurants for up to 4 diners.
  4. Black Tier EVT Stays Members can receive a 50% discount on bills for food and beverage costs when dining at a Participating Hotels’ restaurant. The Black tier members 50% discount applies to a maximum of 2 diners with a 2 further diners (to a maximum of 4 diners) receiving a 20% discount. The maximum combined discount is capped at AUD$500 per Member per day.

Local outlet exemptions and variations may apply to the food and beverage discount at certain Participating Hotels. See exclusions and variations in section 4.2.

The Member discount on food and beverage does not apply to mini bar, breakfast service, in-room dining or conference and meeting room catering and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or arrangement.

2.1.1 The discount on food and beverage bills will only apply where:

  1. The Member is present at the time;
    ii. There are 4 or less people dining at the table;
    iii. There is a single bill;
    iv. The Member presents their Membership Card when the bill is presented, prior to payment or room charge; and
    v. The Member is a registered in-house guest at the Participating Hotel at the time.

For the sake of clarity, the EVT Stays Membership discount on beverages is only applied when a Member is dining within the restaurant or bar with all food and beverage purchases placed on a single restaurant/outlet bill.

The EVT Stays Membership discount does not apply to Members or their guests who are not dining or for “beverage only” purchases at any restaurant or outlet.

2.2 Welcome Beverage:

With each Hotel Visit a Member may have a complimentary beverage in the hotel restaurant or bar during that stay. The range of beverages available is at the discretion of the Participating Hotel, does not include beverages from the mini bar and in certain countries may be limited to respect local tradition or law. Welcome beverage is limited to one beverage per room. Welcome beverage will be provided via printed voucher or loaded onto your Membership Card on the day of check in and will expire on the day of check out. Exclusions and variations apply, see section 4.2.

Welcome beverage is not available for Silver EVT Stays Members.

2.3 Early Check-in:

  • Platinum Tier EVT Stays Members may request an early check-in of 9am.
  • Black Tier EVT Stays Members may request an early check-in of 9am.

Early check-in must be requested at least 24 hours prior to the Member’s scheduled arrival. Early check-in requests are strictly subject to availability at the relevant Participating Hotel and for operational reasons is not guaranteed. Exclusions and variations apply, see section 4.2.

Early check-in is not available for Silver and Gold Tier EVT Stays Members.

2.3 Late Check-out:

  • Gold Tier EVT Stays Members may request a late check-out of 1pm.
  • Platinum Tier EVT Stays Members may request a late check-out of 3pm.
  • Black Tier EVT Stays Members may request a late check-out of 6pm.

Late check-out must be requested at least 24 hours prior to the Member’s scheduled departure. Late checkout requests are strictly subject to availability at the relevant Participating Hotel and for operational reasons is not guaranteed. Exclusions and variations apply, see section 4.2.

Late Check-out is not available for Silver Tier EVT Stays Members.

2.4 Room Upgrades:

  • Platinum Tier EVT Stays Members may request a room upgrade.
  • Black Tier EVT Stays Members may request a room upgrade.

Room upgrades can be requested upon arrival. Upgrade requests are strictly subject to availability at the relevant  Participating Hotel and for operational reasons is not guaranteed. Exclusions and variations apply, see section 4.2.

Room Upgrades are not available for Silver and Gold Tier EVT Stays Members.

2.5 Special reduced room rates for Members:

Members may usually receive a special room rate called a Member Discount when booking Hotel Room Nights direct online at evtstays.com or direct at EVT Hotel Websites by logging on as a Member and selecting one of the specially marked EVT Stays Member Discount rates.

  • Silver Tier EVT Stays Members can access a discount off our Best Flexible Rates. This discount may vary but the rate will always be better than the Best Flexible Rate for non-members booking direct.
  • Gold Tier EVT Stays Members can access 10% off our Best Flexible Rates.
  • Platinum Tier EVT Stays Members can access 15% off our Best Flexible Rates.
  • Black Tier EVT Stays Members can access 15% off our Best Flexible Rates.

The following conditions apply for special reduced room rates:

  • An individual Member may receive the applicable Member Rate for a maximum of three rooms per night. The Member must be an ‘in-house’ staying guest as part of each relevant booking and pay for all rooms on a single account folio.
  • Members are not permitted to book a room using their Membership to receive discounts for another person. The Member may book multiple rooms but they must also be staying in the Participating Hotel at this time.

3. Points

3.1 Earning Points

Members will receive EVT Stays Reward Points for each paid eligible Hotel Room Night at Participating Hotels booked on a Qualifying Member Rate. The amount of points earned depends on which “Group” the hotel belongs to (see Table 4.1) and the Membership Tier of the Member as illustrated in the EVT Stays Points Earning Tables below (Table 3.1.1).

The following conditions apply for earning EVT Stays Rewards Points:

  • An individual Member may receive the corresponding EVT Stays Rewards Points for a maximum of three rooms per night. The Member must be an ‘in-house’ staying guest as part of each relevant booking and pay for all rooms on a single account folio.
  • If more than one Member stays in a room, only one Member can accrue the EVT Stays Reward Points, being the room booker for that stay.
  • Certain promotional room rates may not be eligible to earn EVT Stays Reward Points. The Individual Member should check with the relevant Participating Hotel at the time of booking that the booking is eligible for EVT Stays Reward Points.
  • Members will not earn EVT Stays Reward Points on Free Night Rewards.
  • Hotels may change group, and therefore the quantity of points earned may increase or decrease based on the new group the hotel belongs to.

3.2 Redeeming Points

EVT Stays Members may use accumulated EVT Stays Rewards Points to redeem Free Night Rewards and Points Offers.

3.2.1 EVT Stays Free Night Rewards:

The amount of points required to redeem a Free Night Reward is based on which group the hotel belongs to. See section 4.1 for Participating Hotels in each group.

Members may use accumulated EVT Stays Reward Points to redeem free Reward Room Nights at Participating Hotels subject to the following conditions:

  • A Free Room Night covers the cost of a standard double room, for maximum 2 adults only. Additional charges apply for extra guests (room capacity permitting). It does not include breakfast and it does not cover other costs such as laundry, telephone, meals and beverages. Such costs need to be paid by the Member on check-out.
  • Members can only use accumulated EVT Stays Reward Points from their own Membership to redeem Reward Room Nights. The Free Night offer is for one night in a standard double room only and is subject to availability. Room inventory for Reward Room Night redemption is limited and we recommend Members book well in advance to ensure the greatest possibility of securing your preferred Reward Room Night dates. Please check if your desired date is available. Note that if the Free Night “REDEEM NOW” option is not visible or available, a normal accommodation booking is made and the applicable room rate will be charged.
  • A Member can only redeem one Reward Room Night per night. Multiple Reward Night rooms bookings are not permitted on the same night however sequential rooms nights may be booked if the Member has sufficient points, subject to room availability.
  • Once the Reward Room Night offer is confirmed at the relevant Participating Hotel, the reward points will automatically be deducted from the Member’s account. The amount of Rewards Points deducted is clearly stated at the time of booking. Note, if the booking is subsequently cancelled, all points are forfeited and cannot be refunded.
  • Reward Room Night bookings must be booked direct online at www.evtstays.com or at an EVT Hotel Website.
  • If a Member books a Reward Room Night with a Participating Hotel and prior to using the Reward Room Night that hotel is no longer a Participating Hotel, the Program Operator will use reasonable efforts to have the hotel honour the reservation. However, in this instance, the Program Operator cannot guarantee that the Reward Room Night will be honoured and, if not, the Reward Points will be credited back to the Member’s account.
  • EVT Stays Reward Points cannot be refunded for cash.
  • Once EVT Stays Reward Points have been redeemed for a reward, the redemption cannot be reversed. That is, the points cannot be refunded.
  • Rewards nights are non-transferable; they cannot be given as a gift. The Member must be present at the time of stay.

3.2.2 EVT Stays Points Offers:

As part of one-off promotions, EVT Stays may allow members to redeem points for other items such as food, beverages and gift cards. EVT Stays Points Offers will be available to signed-in members on evtstays.com when available.

The following conditions apply for EVT Stays Points Offers:

  • To redeem a EVT Stays Points Offer at a Participating Hotel, Members with a sufficient points balance must select and synchronise the offer to their EVT Stays digital Membership Card via evtstays.com. Points offers are not always available and are run as part of limited time promotions.
  • Members must be an in-house guest and are required to present their EVT Stays digital Membership Card at the applicable outlet to redeem and remove the offer from their Membership Card.
  • EVT Stays Rewards Points Offers remain valid for 6 months from the date of online redemption with the exception of Gift Cards which is 36 months. They cannot be exchanged for cash or any other services.
  • EVT Stays Points Offers can only be redeemed at Participating Hotels.

3.3 Points Expiry:

  • For EVT Stays Reward Points to remain active and available for future redemption, the Member must have a Reward Points earning activity in the prior 18 months.
  • If a Member has not had any EVT Stays Reward Points earning activity over an 18 month period (Non-Active Period), then all Reward Points earned by such Member at any time before the end of the Non-Active Period will automatically expire. Once a Member has logged into their account on evtstays.com, the account dashboard clearly displays this expiry date.
  • Regardless of a Member’s EVT Stays Reward Points earning activity, any EVT Stays Reward Points that have not been utilised 36 months after they were earned by a Member will automatically expire. Each Member’s account dashboard on evtstays.com clearly displays the date points were earned.

5. Program Partners

  • GHA Discovery – On 1 December 2021, the EVT Stays (previously called PGR) and Discovery programs separated and new EVT Stays Members will no longer automatically be allocated a Discovery Membership.  Therefore a EVT Stays Member who joins after 1 December 2021 will only receive EVT Stays Member Benefits at Participating Hotels.
